Vashon Island runs on its own rhythm, and so does construction there. The housing is wonderfully unstandardized: farmhouses on acreage, beach cabins along Quartermaster Harbor and the outer shores, midcentury homes in the uplands, and owner-built houses with decades of character and improvisation. Everything and everyone arrives by ferry, which means a remodel on Vashon is as much a logistics exercise as a construction project: material deliveries, crew scheduling, and inspection visits all plan around the boat.

We treat that reality as a discipline rather than an obstacle. Vashon projects get deeper pre-planning, fuller material staging before mobilization, and tighter sequencing so a missing part never idles a crew that crossed on the morning ferry. The island is unincorporated, so permits run through King County rather than a city hall, and most properties rely on wells or community water systems and septic, all of which we scope during feasibility. ADUs and guest cottages are a natural fit for island parcels, and we build them to handle the maritime climate for the long haul.
